Family displaced following apartment fire near Fratney & Meinecke

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Crews were called to the scene of a apartment fire near Fratney and Meinecke early Monday morning, May 26th.

According to authorities, officials from the Milwaukee Fire Department and the Milwaukee Police Department were called to the scene around 1:39 a.m.

Officials say a small fire broke out on the first floor of the building. Crews say the building sustained minimal damage — and the fire was contained to a living room.

All residents were able to safely evacuate the building — and no injuries were sustained. However, one family has been displace as a result of the fire.

No additional details have been released — including the cause of the fire or the amount of damage sustained.
