SMASH & GRAB: Hammer-wielding robbers steal watches from jewelry store



MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Police are asking the public to help identify two armed robbery suspects who are accused of robbing Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers, at 623 N. Milwaukee Street, on April 30th at approximately 3:30 pm. 

According to police, the suspects entered the store with hammers, smashed holes in the glass of a display case and stole three watches. They fled on foot and entered the passenger side of a van with a third suspect acting as a getaway driver.

The vehicle was recovered, abandoned, a short time later. 

Suspect #1 is described as a black or Hispanic male, between 18-25 years-old, 5'7"-5'10", 140-170 pounds, with black medium-length hair and a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a royal blue or purple pullover sweatshirt with "NIKE" in white or silver lettering, a white and black striped shirt, and baggy light colored blue jeans.

Suspect #2 is described as a black or Hispanic male, between 18-25 years-old, 5'9"-5'11", 150-175 pounds, with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a light gray pullover sweatshirt with the white letters "WMU" on the front, light colored sweatpants, a beanie-style cap with "CHICAGO" on it, and black shoes with white soles.
