Standoff in Muskego: Man arrested after firing several rounds inside home

MUSKEGO (WITI) -- Muskego police say a 30-year-old man was arrested after a standoff that occurred early Tuesday, June 3rd.

Police responded to a residence on Pioneer Drive in Muskego just after midnight for a report of an armed subject in a residence who made suicidal statements.

The investigation revealed that the 30-year-old man from Muskego had made statements regarding doing harm to anyone who entered the residence.

While police were on scene, the man, whom police say was intoxicated, fired several rounds inside the residence from a semi-automatic handgun.

The Suburban Critical Incident Team responded to the scene, as well as officers from the New Berlin Police Department and deputies with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.

The man was eventually negotiated out of the residence and safely taken into custody.

Charges are being referred to the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office.
