Get fired up! Milwaukee Air & Water Show just weeks away

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- We are just weeks away from the Milwaukee Air and Water Show!

Among the performers this year, Milwaukee is welcoming back the Blue Angels. Organizers anticipate an increased showing just because of that, and have therefore expanded their reserved seating area for the show. They have also, through a careful selection process, confirmed several new acts to participate including the U.S. Navy Parachute Team, the Leap Frogs; the FA-2 Sea Harrier Jet Demonstration Team; and Dave Dacy Airshows Wing-Walker, Tony Kazian.

“We have, like I said, a very careful process that we select these acts with and try to create the most exciting air show acts for people to watch,” said Paul Rogers, the Air & Water Show President.

Rogers said that is just one part of a year-long preparation process. He explained, “There are a lot of details that go into planning this entire airshow, far as getting sponsors and working with the various agencies to put the airshow together. There are a lot of different factors, working with the coast guard, sheriff’s department, Milwaukee county parks, police department, so it’s a very extensive planning process.”

While Milwaukee is busy getting ready for the show, performers like the blue Angels are preparing as well.

“I can’t speak enough about the training process and the time and the effort that goes in the training to put on this demonstration,” said Lt. Mark Tedrow with the Navy Blue Angels.

Tedrow said that while he is looking forward to entertaining the hundreds of thousands of people expected to show up, he is also hoping to leave them with something more,: “We just want people to be inspired and realize that if you work hard enough, you can accomplish anything.”

The air and water show is June 21 & 22 at 10am to 4pm.
