AUTOPSIES: Bodies discovered in suitcases identified as females

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- The Waukesha County Medical Examiner has completed the autopsies on the two bodies discovered Thursday, June 5th inside suitcases on  N. Como Rd.

As a result of the autopsies, it was determined that both bodies were identified as females.

According to the Town of Geneva Police Department, one of the victims has been determined to be an adult. The second victim appears to be an adult, subject to further verification.

Information regarding the autopsies is pending additional test results.

According to officials, an employee with the Town of Geneva Highway Department observed two suitcases in long grass in a ditch while cutting grass Thursday afternoon, June 5th.

Authorities say the suitcases were placed at the side of the road to allow the grass to be cut.

A short time later, the Town of Geneva Police Department responded to a complaint from a citizen regarding two suitcases sitting along the side of N. Como Rd, east of Co. Rd. H.

“When our officers went out, they opened the suitcases and found a body in each of two suitcases,” said Chief Steve Hurley.

The Town of Geneva Police Department is being assisted by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of  Criminal Investigations (DCI), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and other law enforcement agencies, with this investigation.

This investigation continues and updates will be released as they become available.

Authorities say the citizens of the Town of Geneva can rest assured that this is an isolated incident and the crime did not occur where the bodies were located.
