JACKSON, Miss. (WITI) —  A Mississippi woman says her 3-year-old granddaughter cried all the way home after the family was asked to leave a KFC restaurant because of the child’s facial scars — which are the result of a dog attack.

WAPT 16 News reports that the girl was attacked, dragged, and mauled by her grandfather’s two dogs in his backyard.

The grandmother, Kelly Mullions, told WAPT that the family stopped at KFC for mashed potatoes because the 3-year-old was still using a feeding tube, so she needed something mushy. Mullins says that’s when they were approached.

“They just told us, they said, ‘We have to ask you to leave because her face is disrupting our customers’,” Mullins told WAPT. She said her granddaughter, Victoria, understood exactly what was being said.

Mullins also said Victoria is embarrassed about her looks and doesn’t want to get out of the car when they go to stores.

Mullins told WAPT News that, “Her being 3 years old and already being discriminated against, it makes me mad, because I know for the rest of her life it’s going to be like that.”

WAPT says KFC officials commented on the incident saying, “They are investigating the incident and are committed to doing something appropriate for this beautiful little girl and her family.”

KFC also posted an apology online due to all of the attention and comments from social media.

scars or not, she’s still a cutie! there are certainly much more tactful ways of bridging a topic. hopefully the KFC will learn from the event, and the cute little girl won’t let self centered individuals on either side of the situation spoil her self esteem. she is still a beautiful little girl. oh, and dogs need to go!

What a beautiful little girl! I bet she shines just as much on the inside as she does on the outside!

  • Rhino

That little girl is beautiful. There are ugly people in this world, and that KFC employee is one of them.

  • smiles

This is WRONG the employee that asked them to leave should be fired for one. 2 the family has a major law suit with discrimination. 3. Family should eat free. 4. people should look in the mirror before they open their mouths about others, if there were a person that came into the KFC with a hook arm and a wooden leg without knowing why they have it just because someone says somehing about it you kick them out its not right. USE YOUR HEADS!

I hope that this beautiful little girl is told beauty is on the inside..and that maybe some generous plastic surgeon…some generous people..would step forward and see what can be done for her. She is truly a strong. .beautiful little girl…and I hope her family and friends and neighbors tell her so!!!!

Awwwwww, this is terrible. That poor little girl. She is a Beautiful little girl, even with e scars. Those people at KFC are pretty ignorant. Not only insult a little girl, and made her feel bad about herself, which I am sure that she did NOT need their help with. But they also put a BAD Name for KFC. I hope those employees that were there are FIRED. Somebody should scar their face and see how they handle it. Not Good KFC, Not Good. And grandma you not have left. You should have just stayed right where you were. If the other customers were offended, Oh well then they should have left.

KFC is like the bottom of the barrel as far as restaurants go
I mean, all the smelly bums eat there, it’s a veritable stinkhole.
And they dare turn this girl away because “she’s disrupting customers”??? What a load of horsesh!t!

Definitely, they should have asked the other patrons, those who had the issues with this sweet baby’s face, to leave the premises, if they’re so bothered by her. It isn’t her fault you don’t like her scars. It is your fault you have an ugly heart. KFC, you should be ashamed.

This story brought tears to my eyes. When my son was 5, he was kicked in the face by a horse and he looked like someone had bashed his face in. He didn’t much care when we went to the store etc., but he surely did not want to go back to school and face his friends. Once healed, you could barely tell anything had happened. Hang tough, little one, things will get better. Unfortunately, there are not too many smart people in this world and they open their mouths before they think of what they are saying.

I wish I live in Mississippi because I would be picketing Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant . Shame shame shame on them. It doesn’t matter want the baby looks like she deserve to go any where she wants to go without being criticize.

Why is it that we never hear the other side of the story? We never hear the other side’s ACTUAL statements or comments? Why does no one else wonder this…? I’m not willing to pass judgement until I hear both sides.
