MILWAUKEE (WITI) — 20-year-old Erik Tejada — one of five people charged in connection with three armed robberies on Milwaukee’s East Side has been sentenced.

Tejada reached a plea deal in the case against him.

He pleaded guilty to one count of robbery with use of force, as party to a crime — a felony charge.

Two counts of felony armed robbery as party to a crime were dismissed but read in.

In court on Tuesday, June 17th, Tejada was sentenced to four years in prison and three years of extended supervision on the robbery with use of force charge.

Others charged in this case include:

  • 21-year-old Jeriel Rodriguez

Rodriguez pleaded guilty to three felony counts of theft of movable property (greater than $2,500-$5,000) penalty-theft as party to a crime.

On the first charge, Rodriguez was sentenced to one year in prison, one year of extended supervison and three years and six months of probation — with credit for five days served.

On the second charge, Rodriguez was sentenced to 15 months in prison, 15 months of extended supervison and three years and six months of probation.

On the third charge, Rodriguez was sentenced to 15 months in prison, 15 months of extended supervison and three years and six months of probation.

If Rodriguez is to violate his probation, he faces 10 months in the House of Correction on each charge.

  • 18-year-old Abigail Baez

Baez pleaded guilty to one felony count of theft of movable property (greater than $2,500-$5,000) as party to a crime, and a misdemeanor charge of battery.

Baez was sentenced to one year in prison, one year of extended supervison and 30 months of probation on the theft of movable property charge.

Baez was sentenced to five months in the House of Correction on the battery charge.

These sentences are to be served consecutively.

  • 18-year-old Mary Molale

Molale faces a felony charge of theft of movable property (greater than $2,500 – $5,000), and a misdemeanor charge of battery.

Molale has a sentencing hearing set for June 25th.

  • 21-year-old Willmarvin Diaz-Boria

Diaz-Boria has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of robbery by use of force, as party to a crime.

Two felony charges of armed robbery as party to a crime were dismissed, but read in.

Diaz-Boria will be sentenced on August 4th.

The robberies happened on Maryland Avenue, Astor Street and Arlington Place.

Milwaukee police say in each of the cases, victims were approached while they were on foot, acting as pedestrians on the sidewalk by the suspects — who demanded valuables and displayed what appeared to be a firearm.

After the third robbery, a witness called police with a description of a vehicle used by the suspects.

Using that information, police were able to locate the vehicle, stop it, and take the five suspects into custody.

Police say the suspects targeted cell phones, cash and credit cards.

Police found some of the victims’ property either in the vehicle or on the suspects.
