Milwaukee Air & Water Show cancelled Saturday, tickets will be honored Sunday

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Air and Water Show has developed into a destination, despite the damp weather Saturday morning, June 21st. Thousands of people gathered along the lakefront to watch, but the shows scheduled for the day were cancelled due to weather conditions. Tickets will be honored Sunday.

Milwaukee's lakefront fills-up with fans of flight, and freshwater, for the 2014 Air and Water Show.

"What a great time for mom, dad and the kids to come down to the lakefront, at your Milwaukee county parks—Bradford Beach, all along the lakefront, for a great air show," said Paul Rogers, president of Milwaukee Air and Water Show.

Rogers says this year's show features the return of some celebrated performers.

"The Navy Blue Angels, the parachute teams, all the world-class performers. It’s a great opportunity, a rare opportunity, to come down to the lakefront and watch these guys perform over the water, on Lake Michigan," said Rogers.

Russel Dobbertin and company arrived at Veterans Park, early, in order to secure a special spot.

"Just to set-up, put the awning down, put the levelers down, you’re talking 15 minutes, and you’re good to go," said Dobbertin.

Regardless of the rain and fog, he says there's still plenty to see, including the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team.

"It embodies all of our core values of integrity, service and excellence, and, throw-in some trust, and some discipline, and you’ve got the Air Force Drill Team," said Captain Alan Morford, U.S. Air Force Drill Team.

The Milwaukee Air and Water Show continues, at the lakefront Sunday, June 22nd.
