MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Detectives say a Queens mother killed her own baby boy because she “didn’t want him anymore.”

FOX6’s sister station, PIX11 says Nicole “Nikki” Kelly is in police custody — charged with the second degree murder of her 11-month-old son, Kiam Felix, Jr.

Nicole “Nikki” Kelly and Kiam Felix Jr.

Kelly was arrested on Monday, July 7th — her 22nd birthday. She is accused of killing her son the day before.

Kiam Felix Jr. was pronounced dead at the hospital after Kelly brought him into the emergency room with the child’s father — according to PIX11.

PIX11 says Kelly and her baby boy rented a room from a woman who has a two-year-old boy herself.

That woman described Kiam Felix Jr. as “a happy baby.”

PIX11 reports the woman told them she saw Kelly on Sunday afternoon with the body of her lifeless baby just before the baby’s father had come over to take him and Kelly to the hospital.

The woman reports the child was dressed in a completely white outfit — complete with a vest, a collared shirt, a necktie, pants and socks — seen in wallpaper photos posted on Kelly’s Facebook page.

Also on Kelly’s Facebook page: A message reading: “Missing my baby boy so much wish there was some way I could bring him back to life I feel horrible knowing he passed away. Am [sic] his Mother. I was supposed to protect him.”

Police say Kelly wrapped the child so tightly in a bed sheet on Sunday that he couldn’t breathe or move.

Police say Kelly left the child alone on the bed for a half hour while she showered — and then called the boy’s father to take them to the hospital.

There, the child was pronounced dead.

Police say Kelly told them: “I reached my breaking point, I didn’t want him anymore.”

Kelly made her first court appearance on Wednesday.

This heartless woman doesn’t deserve to live herself! I hope she spends the rest of her young and middle age years behind bars. That innocent, handsome baby did not deserve what she did to him.

I ‘ m speechless how a mother is able to killed her baby.Everyone goes throughtout hardships with theirs kids, but there is no need to murder them. She should gave the baby to the her baby dad, or to a firefighte station and dropped the baby there without no one questions.. Poor baby.

Not sure what the time frame is in New York but in Wisconsin, The Safe Haven Law, The child has to be less than 30 days old for that law to applicable. After the 30 days she would and should have to go through the adoption process.

Wow I can’t even speak right now!! That baby was so adorable. He didn’t deserve to die. Their is so many people that want but can’t have children . Shame!!! So sad

And this woman was a Health aid home care worker?!!! I wonder how many patients she got sick of, and tried to kill.

Thats something thats needs to be looked into. I have heard people joke about what THEY WOULD DO to their patients. I think they should check any deaths that happened during her time working for the company. She didnt want her own child but she takes care of other people ..yea right.

This is a very sad story, I was told coming up to never question Gods work, but I can’t seem to help myself sometimes, when I hear stories like this, why are these women who doesn’t deserve these kids, keep being blessed with kids they don’t won’t ? I’m 36 I have been trying since I was 21, I pray everyday that God bless me with a family, it’s a lot of women out here in my same situation, and when I hear these stories it so breaks my heart, that baby didn’t deserve that, he didn’t ask to be here, why she just didn’t give him up to his Father? I hope she gets the punishment that she deserves. RIP. Kiam your in Gods hands now! And I know he will protect you…

Lakeisha- I feel your pain. We have tried for 7 years to conceive. It is really hard to not become bitter when you see stories like this one. We are now in the process of adopting and I would adopt this sweet baby as I am sure there are many families that would. The fact that she says she simply didn’t want him anymore hurts my heart. I am sure the mother has some several mental illness but that were unfortunately undiagnosed because the only other option is that she is pure evil. I will pray for you!

  • WHAT!

Poor baby. I don’t recall seeing this on the national news…. oh that’s right she’s not white.

How sad,My heart goes out to that little baby and his family. There are lots of birthcontrol out there for men and women. She could of gave that baby to the father,a family member, adoption agency or a police stationShe,i believe dressed the baby in that specific outfit for his funeral. And just because this story is not on the world wide news, why does it always have to come down to a comment of a black or white thing.Thats not the story. The story is about this helpless baby!Which is own mom did`nt want him and killed him!

There has to be a better way to intervene in situations like this – rather than just telling young mothers that they can relinquish their babies at the police station, emergency room or leave them with a family member. It’s obviously not enough! There was a similar case recently where the parents plotted to “accidentally forget the baby in his car-seat” on a hot summer day (because they, also, didn’t want him any longer.) Maybe it’s a pride thing? They don’t want everyone to think they are horrible people for “giving their baby up”. They THINK they can save face by claiming it was an accident (which, in my opinion, is why they choose methods that make it difficult to determine if it was an accident or intentional.) Not everyone is meant to be a parent…not every wants to be a parent – and that’s okay. Where do we go from here? How do we reach young moms and dads who feel this way before it’s too late?

I think the first step is for us as a society to stop always referring to children as a “blessing” or a “gift”. I’m not saying it’s not okay to feel that way or to say that just that when we make it seem like children are always a gift if parents aren’t measuring up or don’t want to be parents they are shamed. So instead of doing the right thing and relinquish the child or give them to another parent they attempt these “accidents” to get out of it.

Unfortunately, The law here in Wisconsin, Called the safe haven law, to have no questions asked, only allow for the parents to give the child up to officials with in 30 days of the birth. Anytime after that, the parents would have to go through adoption channels. At that time you could be subject to some type of prosecution for neglect or abandonment charges. In her case that would have been better for her and the child as now the child is dead and she is facing 2nd degree murder charges.

How could you be so heartless towards an 11 month old that hasn’t even had a shot at life yet? Don’t lay down and have kids if your going to regret every minute of it. Children are one of the biggest blessings on this earth. The poor baby didn’t ask to even be here. So for the mother to just simple take this child’s life and then acted remorseful on facebook was a big slap in the face to mothers who really care about their children. Who kills their child then gets them dressed up? A sick monster . she can be called so many names but sick fits her so much . Rest in heaven to the angel that didn’t deserve any of that 👶👶
