Massive fire breaks out at scrap yard, flames engulf cars at Miller Compressing



MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A massive scrapyard fire at Miller Compressing at 16th and Bruce leaves large plumes of smoke behind as fire crews continue battling the flame Saturday night, July 12th.

The fire department says that a pile of junk cars is up in flames -- and describes the fire as very labor intensive.

One battalion and three engines are on the scene and  it could take one to three hours to put out the massive flames. There is one cherry picker hosing down the fire and the department has called in a second.

There have been no reported injuries at this time. The fire is not inside any buildings at Miller Compressing -- it is in a scrapyard.
