Police in Fond du Lac urging folks to keep their homes secured, after learning of naked home intruder

FOND DU LAC (WITI) -- The Fond du Lac Police Department is asking residents to ensure that doors and windows are secured -- after learning of a naked man entering or lurking outside of homes in the Primrose Lane area of the city of Fond du Lac.

Police say they are investigating two reports -- and neighbors are shocked.

"I'm speechless. That's just...I don't think I have words to describe that. There's none that come to mind. Milwaukee maybe. Sheboygan...maybe. Not here. Not in this city. Probably some drunk that's out for a joy walk -- if there is such a thing as a joy walk," one Fond du Lac resident told FOX6 News.

In the latest incident, which occurred around 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23rd, police say a homeowner in the area of Dewberry Drive and Primrose Lane was awakened by the barking of their dog -- only to find that a naked man was in the hallway of their residence.

Police say the male homeowner chased the intruder for a short distance, but lost sight of him.

Police say the description of the suspect and the location of the incident are similar to an incident reported back on June 24th.

In that incident, police say around 3:15 a.m., a homeowner was in the kitchen of her home when she heard someone open and shut the front door of her home. Police say the homeowner went outside -- and as she walked around her car, she saw a naked man.

Police say the man claimed he was out for a walk -- and then took off running.

In both incidents, the suspect is described as a white male, between the ages of 20-30 -- anywhere from 5'10" to 6'3" tall with a lean to medium build, with short hair.

In the latest incident, police say it appears the man gained entry to the home through a door that was inadvertently left unlocked.

Police are urging residents to secure their homes. Police are also recommending people keep a phone nearby the bed to call 911 if necessary during the night.

Police say they are looking into whether these two incidents are connected to an incident on July 20th. In that incident, police say around 2:25 a.m. a white male was reported running naked southbound on Marr Street from the area of E. 9th Street.

Anyone with information on this incidents is asked to contact the Crime Alert number at (920) 322-3740.
