MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee Police officers arrested two teenage suspects for their involvement in a recent aggravated assault.

Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of W. Wells Street at approximately 8:25 p.m. on July 26 and were met on the scene by the victim, a 50-year-old Milwaukee man.

The victim told officers he was riding his bicycle on W. Wells Street when two suspects approached him.

One of the suspects kicked the side of his bicycle causing him to fall on the ground. The second suspect approached the victim and took out what appeared to be a handgun and threatened the victim.

Something then startled the suspects and they fled on foot.

The victim gave the officers descriptions of the suspects and two of the officers immediately suspected two juveniles that matched the description and who had been arrested earlier in the summer.

The suspects also had a connection to an apartment in the neighborhood.

Officers went to the apartment and found both suspects, a 14-year-old Milwaukee male and a 15-year-old Milwaukee male, hiding underneath bags and piles of clothing.

A BB gun, believed to have been used in the crime, was located next to one of the suspects.

The teenagers were taken into custody for the aggravated assault.

The 14-year-old suspect was first arrested by Milwaukee Police when he was 10-years-old for burglary, and then again at age 13 for Driving and Operating Vehicle without an Owner’s Consent.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
