VIDEO: Semi overturns in Mitchell Interchange tunnel, backs up traffic

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A tractor-trailer overturned inside a tunnel near the Mitchell Interchange Tuesday morning, August 5th. It happened around 7 a.m.

The semi truck was traveling east on I-894 when the driver failed to navigate a stretch of road, leading to a roll over.

"Once it gets tipping, obviously 80,000 pounds of something shifting like that is a lot easier to tip than maybe your car," said Dylan Glindinning, Truck Country sales representative.

This is the second time in just a few months that a semi crashed in the same area. The other accident happened on April 7th.

Neither driver was hurt.

Tuesday's crash caused a backup for nearly three miles. Crews had the road cleared and back open within two hours.
