WAUKESHA (WITI) — One of the teenagers involved in a serious crash in Waukesha County over the weekend has died.

Waukesha Schools Superintendent Todd Gray tells FOX6 News Alyse Krauss was a student and a softball player at Waukesha North High School.

She was in a vehicle with another student — that struck a tree on Ryan Road, just south of Lisbon Road.

Both suffered severe injuries.

The vehicle’s driver (from Waukesha) was taken to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life. The passenger (from Pewaukee) was taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital.

The crash happened on Saturday, August 2nd — just after 12:30 p.m.

Officials think they failed to negotiate a curve.

The accident remains under investigation.
