Cash for Waukesha's Crites Field: Runway reconstruction given go-ahead

WAUKESHA CO. (WITI) -- A $580,855 design project to reconstruct runway 10/28 at the Waukesha County Airport/Crites Field has been given the go-ahead.

Andrew Trimble, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said that the reconstruction of the 5,850 foot runway will provide the county with a solid foundation for aircraft operations for many years to come.

Here's a breakdown of the funding for the project:

The design is expected to be completed later this summer -- with construction in 2015.

Waukesha County Airport/Crites Field is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics.
