Embracing messes, celebrating obstacles: Thousands take part in Dirty Girl Mud Run

WAUKESHA CO. (WITI) -- Thousands of women, young and old, took time in Saturday, August 16th to bond with family and friends -- and get a little dirty. They took part in the annual Dirty Girl 5K Mud Run.

The event was held at the Waukesha County Fairgrounds. Women of all ages and athletic abilities took part in the run which is not a "race" in the traditional sense. Instead, the women were challenged with multiple obstacles and lots of mud.

A portion of all registration fees for the Dirty Girl Mud Run is donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
