Watery predicament: Pipe bursts at Milwaukee County Safety Building

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The cleanup is expected through Tuesday after a faulty pipe burst and damaged part of the Milwaukee County Safety Building.

A county employee discovered the flooding around 7 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies reported heavy damage to the carpeting, ceiling and computers in their roll call room. A statement from the sheriff's office says the sheriff's administration, traffic, court staff and communications areas were not affected.

But the sheriff's department assigned deputies to provide security during the cleanup and repair process to protect files with sensitive court information.
