Police: Four burglary suspects caught fleeing from crime scene

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Four burglary suspects were arrested by officers from District 4 of the Milwaukee Police Department as they tried to flee from a crime scene.

According to officials, a citizen called police after noticing what was believed to be a burglary at a home in the 5600 block of N. 56th Street at about 3:15 p.m. on August 19th.

When officers arrived, they noticed a vehicle that matched the description of the one used in the burglary. Officers conducted a traffic stop and inside the vehicle were several stolen electronic items, including a flat-screen television.

The three occupants of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, and a 39-year-old man, all from Milwaukee, were taken into custody.

The 39-year-old man is a convicted felon.

A fourth suspect, a 15-year-old Milwaukee male, fled from the scene on a bicycle but was later located and taken into custody.

The burglary victim, a 56-year-old Milwaukee woman, confirmed that the property found in the vehicle was hers and was stolen from her home.

Milwaukee Police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
