MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The Wells St. bridge in downtown Milwaukee is shut down for repairs. That’s in large part because the bridge got stuck in the UP position twice in the last week.

Sandy Rusch-Walton from the Milwaukee Department of Public Works spoke with FOX6 News over the weekend. She said a problem with the bridge’s hydraulic system is to blame for the bridge being stuck. Crews may now be addressing that issue.

If you’re driving through the downtown Milwaukee area, please take note of this closure.
