RACINE COUNTY (WITI) — As part of the I-94 North-South bridge reconstruction over WIS 20, crews will be setting girders and will require multiple overnight closures of a portion of WIS 20 and the I-94 (NB) exit/entrance ramps in Racine County.

The WIS 20 closure will extend from the I-94 East (SB) exit/entrance ramps to the East Frontage Road. The I-94 East (SB) exit/entrance ramps will remain open.

The overnight closures will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday, September 8-11th. Outside these hours, WIS 20 will be open with some lane restrictions.

  • Travelers can utilize 58th Road and the frontage roads as their detour routes to get around the overnight full closures on WIS 20 under I-94.
  • Traffic on I-94 WEST (NB) will be directed to exit at WIS 11 and use the frontage roads to access WIS 20.
  • WIS 20 traffic should utilize the frontage roads to County K or WIS 11 to access I-94 WEST (NB).

Wisconsin Department of Transportation has been coordinating with Racine Unified School District Transportation Services regarding the closures and schedule for the duration of this year’s work.

More information about the project can be found at www.plan94.org. All scheduled operations are weather dependant and subject to change.
