Police quickly apprehend suspect following armed robbery of East Side CVS Pharmacy

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say they have arrested a suspect accused in the armed robbery of the CVS Pharmacy located on the city's East Side.

The robbery occurred on Tuesday night, September 16th -- around 10:00 p.m., at the CVS Pharmacy on Farwell Avenue.

Police say a store employee told officers a suspect entered the store, picked up some items and gave an employee a demand note saying he had a gun. The suspect was able to get cash from the register, and he then fled the store.

Police say officers in the area saw a suspect matching the description of the individual involved in the armed robbery and initiated a foot pursuit -- taking the 21-year-old Milwaukee man into custody in the 1600 block of E. Irving Place.

Charges are expected from the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
