Ashanti Hendricks enters guilty, no contest pleas to multiple charges

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 23-year-old Ashanti Hendricks pleaded guilty on Friday, September 26th to multiple criminal counts against him -- and no contest to one more. All of this is in the wake of an incident that happened at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in November 2013.

Police were tipped off in November 2013 that Hendricks had a warrant out and was at that moment at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa. Officers approached Hendricks, who dropped a two-month-old baby he was holding and fled down a hallway. Police later shot Hendricks in the arm after they say he refused to drop his gun.

On Friday, Hendricks pleaded guilty to two counts of felony bail jumping, one count of felon in possession of a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer. He also pleaded no contest to felony child abuse.

Hendricks will be back in court for sentencing on December 12th.
