Funded by the Green Bay Packers, the NFL Foundation and Humana, the Community Quarterback Award recognizes outstanding volunteers within the state of Wisconsin. Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations are invited to nominate exceptional volunteers who demonstrate leadership, dedication and a commitment to bettering their communities through volunteerism.

The Community Quarterback Award is for volunteers who are not compensated for their services and have served a minimum of one year with their organization. For the third year, Humana will be matching all funds received from the NFL Foundation, raising the total amount awarded to $40,000, with each volunteer receiving $4,000 for his or her respective charity. In addition to the grants, each winner will also receive two tickets to the Dec. 28 contest against the Detroit Lions, provided by Humana.

”Volunteerism and a sense of community are an undervalued, but important, aspect of our well-being,” said Jerry Ganoni, president of Humana’s commercial division. “As the largest employer in Green Bay, Humana is not only committed to promoting the lifelong well-being of our members and employees, but also improving the wellness of the community as a whole.
