A sort of library vending machine, Milwaukee Public Library "express" at 64th and Silver Spring

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee neighborhood has a new library, and this one is different than any other library in the city.

It is a Milwaukee Public Library "express" and it's the first of its kind in the state of Wisconsin.

Located on the corner of 64th Street and Silver Spring Drive, all you need to use it is a library card.

"You scan your card. There's a selection of materials in the machine that you can see. You press the number that corresponds with the book that you want and the book is dispensed to you," Milwaukee Public Library Director Paula Kiely said.

The "express" library is available 24 hours a day.

Residents can use the "express" library to access everything in the Milwaukee County Library System.

You can request an item online, and then you will get an email saying it's there.
