Senator Ron Johnson on Ebola: U.S. should restrict travel from Africa

EAU CLAIRE (AP) — U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson says more must be done to stop the spread of Ebola, and the federal government should bar people from entering the country if they have been in African nations affected by the virus in the past 30 days.

Johnson says an alternative would be quarantining those people for 21 days before they get on a plane or once they arrive in the U.S.

Johnson told the Leader-Telegram of Eau Claire (http://bit.ly/1ttt04J ) that he considered those steps "minimal action."

One person has died from Ebola in the United States after arriving from Liberia. Two health care workers who treated Thomas Eric Duncan have since sickened.
