57-year-old Milwaukee man dead following shooting near 26th & Nash

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that happened near 26th and Nash at about 3 a.m. on October 17.

The victim, a 57-year-old male from Milwaukee, reported to investigators that a suspect attempted to rob him at gunpoint while he was in front of his residence.

During the incident, the suspect shot the victim, striking him in the thigh.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment, where he later died.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office to officially determine cause of death.

There are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
