DOT: Work on WIS 16 in Waukesha County to begin October 27th

WAUKESHA COUNTY (WITI) -- On Monday, October 27th, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will begin a $7,200,000 project on a series of bridges and their approaching roadway on WIS 16 from WIS 67 to I-94, in the cities of Oconomowoc and Waukesha in Waukesha County.

There are deteriorating conditions on these structures. This project is needed to preserve the lifespan of the bridges and their approaching roadway.

In 2014, the contractor, Zenith Tech, will focus on shoulder and temporary median work in advance of major construction in 2015. Next year’s work will involve bridge deck replacement on the bridge at County KE and at County KF. Ten additional structures will have overlays and/or deck repairs.

On Monday, short term lane closures will begin on WIS 16. As always, WisDOT urges motorists to remain alert and cautious when driving through a work zone.
