BUSTED: Robbery victim's credit card leads to arrest of two suspects

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Two armed robbery suspects, including a convicted felon, were arrested by Milwaukee police for an alleged armed robbery.

Officers were dispatched to the neighborhood near Bremen and Chambers just after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 9th for a report of an armed robbery. The victims, a 24-year-old woman and a 45-year-old woman, told officers they were in a park when the suspect approached. The suspect pulled out a knife, grabbed purses from both women, and then fled in a vehicle driven by another suspect.

About two hours later, one of the victims contacted police and said her stolen credit card had just been used at a business near 12th and North Ave. Officers responded to that location and saw two men matching the suspects’ description inside a vehicle. A knife and two credit cards belonging to the victims were located in the vehicle.

Both men, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man and a 43-year-old Milwaukee man, were taken into custody. The 43-year-old man has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 1990 that includes a 2002 felony armed robbery conviction.

Milwaukee police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
