Milwaukee Bucks players, coaches and Bango encourage children to read

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Some 400 Milwaukee students were able to hang out with Milwaukee Bucks players and Bucks mascot Bango on Wednesday, November 12th.

It was all part of the annual "Sam's Hope Worlds Matter" reading rally.

This year's event took place at Discovery World.

All the players and coaches took part, and talked to the kids about the importance of reading and education.

Organizers say without the Bucks, this event wouldn't happen.

"It was supposed to be a one-time project and when we did that one-time project and it just sort of mushroomed from there and we fell together with the Bucks and they just kept on asking us to do more and more and we did and here we are today," Barbara Garner with Sam's Hope said.

All of the children who attended were given a book.
