West Bend woman sustains serious injuries in two-vehicle crash near CTH Z & Paradise Dr.

WEST BEND (WITI) -- The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident in the Town of West Bend Tuesday, November 11th.

It happened at approximately 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of CTH Z and Paradise Drive.

A preliminary investigation into the cause of the crash revealed that a 20-year-old West Bend woman had been southbound on CTH Z, turned eastbound onto Paradise Drive, and immediately conducted a “U” turn. The West Bend woman entered the northbound lane of CTH Z directly in front of a Washington County Taxi minibus.

The West Bend woman was extricated from her vehicle by firefighters and transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in the Town of Polk. From there, she was flown to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa by Flight for Life. Her injuries are believed to be serious.

The Washington County Tax minibus was being operated by a 52-year-old West Bend woman and was occupied by three passengers. All of whom were transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital for minor injuries and/or precautionary purposes.

CTH Z between Dunst Drive and Heritage Drive and Paradise Drive between CTH Z and Scenic Drive was closed for approximately 5.5 hours to facilitate rescue and investigative efforts.

The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Unit.
