GREENFIELD (WITI) -- Verlo Mattress set a new world record while celebrating the grand opening of its newly renovated flagship store.

The Greenfield store is located at 6501 W. Layton Ave. -- and the re-branded and re-designed Verlo store is using the latest sleep technology to enhance the customer experience.

The mattress selection process is also brand new. It involves beacon-enabled iPads and easy to understand icons to help customers identify which mattress best fits their needs.

On Saturday, November 15th, Verlo Mattress attempted to break the world record for the most mattresses stacked. It took a team of six builders, and a forklift to stack 18 mattresses together. The stack was made up of 10 queen, four full, and four twin-sized mattresses.

The stack measured 16 feet, 5.25 inches -- beating the former record of 16 feet, four inches.

The mattresses involved in the record-breaking attempt will be donated to charity.
