Two being questioned after shots fired inside West Milwaukee home

WEST MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Two people have been taken into custody for questioning after shots were fired inside a West Milwaukee home.

West Milwaukee police responded to a home near 55th and Lapham just after midnight for reports of shots fired. They also called in West Allis police and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Tactical Squad Team to assist.

Upon arrival, authorities attempted to make contact with the residents, but were unsuccessful. The Police Chief tells FOX6 News that they were concerned about the welfare of the people inside -- and eventually made the call to breach the door.

Once inside, authorities found a man and woman -- both were OK. Authorities say the two were taken into custody for questioning.

The Police Chief says he's not sure at this time if this was a domestic situation. He says both the man and the woman live at the home, and there has been a history of calls to this residence.

No additional details have been released at this time.
