2,000 piglets rescued from overturned semi

INDIANAPOLIS (WITI) -- A semi delivering more than 2,000 piglets overturned in Indianapolis.

The truck was traveling from North Carolina to Iowa when it flipped. Crews had to free the animals.

About 700 pigs died in the crash. The others were taken to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for a check-up before getting back on the road.

Officials say it was their first ever piglet rescue.
