Coast Guard rescues stranded boaters off the Sheboygan County shore

SHEBOYGAN CO. (WITI) –The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has reached a boat that was taking on water in Lake Michigan — off the Sheboygan County shore. The call came from a man whose boat was taking on water.

The USCG crew, and three surrounding fire departments were dispatched to an area just south of Harrington Beach State Park in the Town of Belgium.

The Coast Guard crew got them safely back to shore.

Officials say two people were on the 14-foot boat — a 31-year-old man from Oak Creek was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The second, was a 24-year-old man from Neshkoro and was uninjured.
