Snow plow buries two boys in snowbank, rescue caught on camera

NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Two boys whose parents became alarmed when they didn't come home from playing in the snow were found hours later buried in a snow bank. Officials say a plow operator moving snow didn't realize they were there.

Authorities in Newburgh say the parents of the 9-year-old and 11-year old boys called police just before midnight Wednesday. The children had been out, possibly trying to build a snow fort.

Officials searching a snow bank nearby found the boys around 2 a.m. Thursday. They were conscious and suffering from exposure. The boys were taken to the hospital, where one remains under observation.

Authorities say a snow plow operator had been clearing a parking lot by pushing snow over, and didn't see the boys on the other side of the pile.
