Putting a smile on the face of a child: JCI Greater Milwaukee hosts Stuff the Truck holiday toy drive

WAUWATOSA (WITI) -- One group is hoping to help children in the state's child welfare system -- that don't qualify for programs like Toys for Tots.

Going on Friday, November 28th, outside the Dave and Busters on Mayfair Road, was a Stuff the Truck event.

The group JCI Greater Milwaukee hopes to collect toys for 24,000 kids. They accept unwrapped new toys, or a gift card, valued at $15 are requested.

The goal is to make sure these kids don't miss out on Christmas.

"It seems like a really simple idea but if you think some of the kids aren't in their own home, but if they can just have something they can call their own it's a really big deal," said Sarah Benitez, with JCI Greater Milwaukee.

This is the groups fourth time collecting gifts for kids -- but it is their first Stuff the Truck event.

If you would like to donate, they will be at the same Dave and Busters on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
