MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Cyber Monday isn't the only time you can land great deals online. There are plenty of free online shopping tools that can help you save money all year!
If you're looking for an item and you want to pick your own price — try Greentoe.
"A lot of consumers don't want to deal with going around to different price comparison websites or going driving around from store-to-store," says co-founder and CEO of Greentoe Joe Marrapodi.
Greentoe lets you shop for electronics, appliances, baby products and more. Once you find what you're looking for, you submit the price you want to pay for the item and then Greentoe haggles with the company to get you the item at a price that fits your budget.
"We typically save the consumer somewhere from 18% to 20% off the typical retail price," Marrapodi says.
If you don't want to haggle, try downloading PriceZombie.
PriceZombie is a price history tracker. The browser add-on gives you a look at an item's price history. This lets you know if an item has come at a cheaper price before allowing you to make an informed decision on whether or not it's worth your money.
If you want to wait, you can create a "Watchlist" on PriceZombie. Once you put an item on that list, PriceZombie will alert you when the price drops.
PriceZombie is free and available for Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
Another useful browser add-on is Priceblink.
Priceblink is an online price comparison tool. Once you find an item you want, the add-on scours the web for the same product. If another website is selling what you want for less — Priceblink alerts you. Priceblink also has coupon alerts. This lets you know coupons or promotions being offered on the site you're shopping before you pay for a product.
Priceblink is free and available for Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
On the go? Consider downloading Sift.
The app helps you sift through all those e-mail offers you get from your favorite stores. Oftentimes, it can be hard to see all the deals bombarding your inbox. Sift sorts through to find the deals and coupons for your shopping trip. In addition, it offers coupon suggestions similar to the places you already shop.
Sift is free for Apple products in the app store and runs on android devices through the app's website.
If you want to save on shipping this holiday season, mark December 18th on your calendar — that's free shipping day. For a list of online retailers participating click here.
