Stuff the Suitcases

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Returning and homeless veterans are getting a little extra help this winter.

FunJet Vacations and Southwest Airlines teamed up to start “Stuff the Suitcases” on Monday, December 1st.

The suitcases will be distributed to 20 different collection sites, including 19 travel agencies around the Milwaukee area.

FunJet Vacations and Southwest Airlines are asking people to donate items to help veterans get back on their feet.

“I can’t think of a better ause to have here at the holidays than to give a hand up. Not a hand out, but a hand up to returning and homeless veterans and and getting them back on their feet. Boy if we ever had a chance to fill suitcases with love and joy we have that opportunity right here right now,” FunJet Vacations President Mike Going said.

Everything collected will go to the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative.
