After home opening win at home last weekend, Wave hit the road to take on Baltimore Blast

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- After an exciting 9-3 home opening win against the St. Louis Ambush at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena last weekend, the six-time champion MKE Wave set their sights on the arch rival Baltimore Blast and face them in a weekend doubleheader Friday and Saturday night (December 12th and 13th) at Royal Farms Arena.

“Any time the Wave and Blast play each other, it is a big rivalry,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “We know playing them back to back in Baltimore will be a challenge but the players are ready for the weekend.”

The Wave move to 4-2 on the season after their win against St. Louis, while the Blast remain the hottest team in the Major Arena Soccer League and sit undefeated going into the weekend.

Both games Friday and Saturday are set to kick off at 8:35pm CT and can be watched LIVE and FREE via GoLiveSportsCast.com.

Additionally, the Wave has signed goalkeeper Jeff Richey and Racine St. Catherine alum Connor Brehm.

Goalkeeper #7 Jeff Richey from Evanston, Indiana, once played for the Milwaukee Rampage (A-league), Milwaukee Wave United (A-league) and Milwaukee Wave (MISL) before being traded to the Chicago Storm (MISL) in 2004.

"I’m extremely excited to be rejoining the Milwaukee Wave,” said Richey. “I'm honored to be apart of this teams history and great tradition.  I also am looking forward to playing for Coach Oliviera and Vorberg in front of some of the best fans in the league."

"We are very excited to have Jeff join the Wave,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “Jeff has a lot of indoor experience and has had a lot of success over his career.”

Richey steps in for the injured Marcel Feenstra who is out for the season after tearing his Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) and Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during a game against Detroit, Saturday, November 22nd, 2014.

Forward #33 Connor Brehm from Racine, Wisconsin, joins the MKE Wave Professional Soccer Team after proving himself to coaching staff.

“Connor has been training with the Wave for the past few months and we like the progress we’ve seen,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “He has an outstanding work ethic and will be a big part of the team.”

“I’m excited to be a part of this legendary team,” said Brehm. “I want to bring a championship home and get myself a ring. I look forward to it!”

Brehm played at NCAA Division II Bellarmine (Kentucky) between 2011-2013 and had a short stint overseas playing with Belfast Club, Police Service of Northern Ireland FC – known as PSNI FC – in the Northern Ireland Football League, Championship 1.
