"It stunned me:" One killed in gas station shootout, another wounded

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another man hospitalized.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at about 11 a.m. Saturday in the 4400 block of N. Green Bay Ave. This is the same location where a fatal shooting happened last June.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was declared dead at the scene. A 42-year-old Milwaukee man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators have not said what led up to it, but believe two men exchanged gun fire.

FOX6 News spoke to a man who says he was in the gas station minutes before the shooting.

"It stunned me. It really did. You could be anywhere and something could happen," said Michael Jordan, heard gunshots.

Back on June 17th, a 34-year-old man was shot and killed in the parking lot as well. A 21-year-old man is charged and awaiting trial in that case.

Authorities say the investigation with this incident is still in its very early stages.
