"What we need now is peace:" Barrett on decision to not charge Manney in Dontre Hamilton death



MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett weighed in on the decision to not charge Christopher Manney in the Dontre Hamilton death during a news conference on Monday, December 22nd.

During a news conference at 11:30 a.m., Barrett said it is his hope that protests in Milwaukee remain peaceful. He said, "We cannot allow all police officers to be demonized. What we need now is peace."

Barrett has not asked for assistance from the National Guard. He says he does not feel there's reason for the Guard to be mobilized.
