Red Cross assisting two following early morning house fire near S. 15th Pl. & Rogers

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Red Cross is assisting two people following a house fire early Monday morning, December 22nd.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. near S. 15th Pl. and W. Rogers.

Officials say the fire broke out in the kitchen and then extended to the second floor.

The home had no working smoke detectors.

The fire caused an estimated $67,000 in damage to the building and $22,000 in damage to the contents.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
