Swinging the clubs in December in Wisconsin; golfers say "you can't beat it!"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Christmas is over, but the gifts keep on coming! We saw highs in the 40s on Christmas Day, and again on Friday, December 26th -- and that meant some were able to hit the links!

"We are swinging the golf club! Fantastic! I love it!" Floyd Herron said.

Floyd Herron and Willie Jude were working up a sweat on the fairway on the day after Christmas.

"My wife said, I know you're going golfing!" Herron said.

Lincoln Golf Course on West Hampton Avenue in Milwaukee was one of two courses in Milwaukee County open this week. Reservations were filling up quick!

"December, playing golf in Wisconsin. You can't beat it!" Jude said.

Even though the days are getting longer, they are getting numbered for temperatures in the 40s!

"We've got a couple days left -- a couple days left in the year," a golfer said Friday.

Golfers say getting out on the course in December in Wisconsin is like therapy.

"The more I move around the better it feels. Sitting down hurts me a lot," Herron said.

Chronic pain from a hip replacement follows Herron whenever he stops, but it can't keep up when he's walking the course.

For anyone feeling left out on Christmas, December 26th turned out to be a generous day!
