Down $72K from this time last year! There’s still time to donate to Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign!

WAUWATOSA (WITI) -- There’s still time to contribute to The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Christmas Campaign. The campaign is down $72,000 from this time last year.

Meeting this year’s Red Kettle Christmas Campaign goal of $3.8M is critical to more than 80 programs and services that help area Milwaukee families and children in need.

“Along with expanding programs and service, contributions made during our annual Red Kettle Campaign ensure critical needs of the unemployed, underemployed, homeless and others who are often over looked and under served, are met,” said Major Dan Jennings, Salvation Army Divisional Commander for Wisconsin & Upper Michigan.

Eighty-four cents of every dollar donated is used to sustain 80 distinct year round programs and services including emergency shelter, food and clothing, disaster relief, utility and rent assistance, employment services and summer lunch programs for children.
