Man arrested on drug possession charges while wearing t-shirt reading: "I have drugs"

FLORIDA (WITI) -- A Florida man arrested on drug possession charges all but advertised he had them via the T-shirt he was wearing at the time of his arrest.

John Balmer was arrested at a Kmart in Hudson, Florida, on Monday, January 5th. During his arrest, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office noticed his shirt. It reads "WHO NEEDS DRUGS?" Underneath that it says "No, seriously, I have drugs."

Law enforcement officials say Balmer apparently meant it!

FOX6's sister station in Florida -- FOX13 in Tampa Bay reports according to an arrest report, Balmer tried to hand a small bag of drugs to someone standing behind him when he saw a deputy walk into the store, but that person wouldn't take them.

He then set the bag down near a checkout aisle, paid for his purchases, and was confronted by a deputy, the report said.

The deputy checked the bag and found small amounts of marijuana and methamphetamine. The witness confirmed it was the bag Balmer tried to hand off, according to the report.

Balmer was arrested and booked charges of possession of meth and marijuana.
