"We're going to be there in a small part:" Waukesha company helps 'light up' Seattle

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- The NFC Championship broadcast will have some Wisconsin ties that you might miss -- if you're not looking carefully! A Waukesha company is helping light up the set for the big game.

Blizzard Lighting is a relatively small Waukesha company with a small product that produces some powerful illumination. It'll help jazz up the anchor desk where the fellas sit.

"This time around there's going to be some more stage-type lighting. Stuff that you see like at a rock concert. That's where we come in," said Blizzard Lighting Founder, Will Komassa.

During the Fox Sports NFC Championship telecast 4 blockhead fixtures will visually animate the pregame and halftime set in some fashion.

When the game was slated for nighttime, ModTruss, the Fond du Lac company making the set was going to use many more Blizzard LED light fixtures.

"We had originally planned on having a lot more down lighting that would have lit up the stage, made it look like it was glowing, floating," said Komassa.

The change to a daytime game forced a scale back to the four blockheads.

"It's so bright, like you can see we're in a brightly lit room right now and you have no problem seeing it. In addition to being able to project a really bright light onto something, obviously looking at it you get a lot of visual appeal from it," said Komassa.

Komassa says his products have been used in other high production venues, but this is super special.

"You've got the team that all of us root for and the team that I've rooted for since I can remember that's in the second most important game of the season. And we're going to be there in a small part and it's cool," said Komassa.

Komassa says be sure to look for the blue lights that light up the Fox Sports logos -- that's his company's product, too!
