Milwaukee's Central Library hosts Wisconsin History Tour exhibit

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- History comes alive! Tuesday, January 20th marked the start of a special week at Milwaukee's Central Library.

The Wisconsin History Tour is in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is the sixth stop for the traveling exhibit which takes a historical look at the state, but more specifically, the city that it's in.

For the next week at the library, there will be programs and performances relating to Milwaukee's rich history.

Organizers want people to share their stories about the town.

"I think the point is that you get these things out of what you consider the dusty, old attics and into the community with the people and I think this is just a real powerful statement of that," Milwaukee historian John Gurda said.

The exhibit will be on display at Milwaukee's Central Library through January 28th.
