It's time to start thinking about baseball! Fans interact with players & staff at "Brewers On Deck" event

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- It's that time already! Time to start thinking about Brewers baseball! Spring Training is right around the corner, and on Sunday, January 25th -- a popular event at Miller Park -- one Brewers fans wait all year for! Nearly 50 Brewers players, plus a host of alumni, coaches and front office executives were on hand at the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee for "Brewers On Deck!"

"That's why we are excited -- because it's the middle of winter and we want it to be summer," Barb Kaczanowski said.

Considering how things ended in Seattle for the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin sports fans say it's nice to start thinking about baseball.

Andy Tusic and his son are ready for this Brewers season to get underway.

"We were outside playing catch (Saturday)," Tusic said.

It was their third time at the popular "Brewers On Deck" event. Fans have the opportunity to interact with Brewers players and staff.

Sunday marked Barb Kaczanowski's first "Brewers On Deck" experience.

"This is my first year. I've always wanted to go, but I'm usually out of town. They are the local team, so you've got to support them," Kaczanowski said.

Fans had the opportunity to pick up raffle tickets with proceeds benefiting the Brewers Community Foundation. Fans were also excited to get up close and personal with players -- many waiting in line for autographs.

January may seem a little early to be talking baseball, until you consider the fact that pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training in just 26 days.

This, as fans hope for a winning Brewers season.

"They are just fun to watch. They are exciting," a Brewers fan said.

The Brewers will open 2015 at home against the Colorado Rockies on Monday, April 6 in the start of a six-game homestand over seven days.
