MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Nearing the end of his first season as the owner of the Milwaukee Wave, Mike Zimmerman says the team is losing money.

Zimmerman says he is looking to make changes when it comes to the team’s lease with the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

Zimmerman believes that if his company, MKE Sports & Entertainment assumed the food and beverage operations at the arena he could turn a profit.

The arena’s owner, the Wisconsin Center District contracts with Chicago-based Levy Restaurants for concessions.

Zimmerman and the Wisconsin Center District have agreed to meet to discuss the idea after the Wave season ends on February 21st.

The team was losing money before he bought it. The ‘sport’ is a joke and it doesn’t have a sustainable following to make it profitable. Concessions are definitely helpful and the best bet to help MKE and the future of the Arena. At least give them a shot -better than the money going out of state. (oh wait, that’s only a Potowatomi issue right?)
