Jury finds former police detective Rodolfo Gomez not guilty in misconduct case
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee County jury finds former Milwaukee police detective Rodolfo Gomez not guilty of two charges against him. The verdict came down on Friday afternoon, February 13th.
48-year-old Gomez faced one count of misconduct in office/excess authority and one count of abuse of residents of penal facilities. He was accused of using excessive force on a suspect during an interrogation — striking the suspect inside the Milwaukee Police Administration Building.
Gomez was a 12-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department. He was fired in December 2013.
